About Autumn Roe
Autumn is currently in her 6th year of teaching art at Anderson Elementary School. While Autumn has been working at Anderson she has strived to create the best artistic experience for her students. While keeping this mindset Autumn has created many new programs for her students. The first being a gallery space with students curators. Second Autumn (with the help of a music counterpart) created a Fine Arts Week that happens every year in the month of March. This week Anderson students get the opportunity to use creative thinking in their regular classroom, meet professionals of the arts community, watch ballet performances, participate in master classes, experience Lunch and a Show starring any musical and artistic teachers, finally the Fine Arts Week finishes off with a fun yet competitive game of Artistic Minute to Win It. Lastly Autumn wants her students to understand that technology is a wonderful way to create art. Her grant writing team was awarded the TVA grant for STEM. This grant gave Autumn the opportunity to implement 3D printing, 3D Drawing as well as t-shirt design into her classroom. Beyond the classroom Autumn is an artist that is constantly creating works of art, and having art displayed in a gallery or museum. Autumn's main goal as an artist and an arts educator is to educate her community about the world of art, either through teaching or having work displayed. |
