I am fascinated by the relationship between life and nature. They are both predictable, yet chaotic; stable, yet unsteady; unchanging, but never the same. During this time year 2020 we might find ourselves isolated from the rest of the world. However while we have been stuck in our homes, nature has been thriving. Bears in the Great Smoky Mountains have started to excel, and for a short time the smog of L.A. subsided. Regardless of where people are located, the city, country, or suburb our lives are always intertwined with the nature around us. I have found beautiful natural elements within city-like areas. I observed the wonderful creation that surrounded me. I would examine different trees, plants, creeks and so much more to create these works. The way I chose what natural element to capture was by finding organic elements that were overlooked by most, but were thriving just like our lives in 2020. Isolated, overlooked by most, but still thriving just the same.
